I’m not obsessed celebrity blog is bringing photos from the filming of Geena’s new TV-pilot – called “Exit 19″, or perhaps “Gloria Sheppard” (Geena’s role character’s name). Click photo below for more:

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Geena’s role character Gloria is a Manhattan homicide detective and single mom. Perez plays Lorna, Gloria’s Brooklyn-born partner on the police force. Ramon Rodriguez plays a smart and flirty cop who works with Gloria and Lorna, and Amy Farrington will play Davis’ neighbor.

If you are an aspiring actor, you might want to look into this:
Casting for Geena’s new TV-series, 4 actors needed – although from the descriptions, it seems that three of those have already been casted.

Hollywood Reporter, by Nellie Andreeva, knows more about the initial development of what will hopefully be Geena’s next TV-show:

The project was developed at ABC Studios by writer Michael Nankin and studio-based producers Gene Stein and Nina Wass, whose overall deal there was terminated during the writers strike. Stein and Wass then took the script to Davis, with whom they had worked on ABC’s comedy series “The Geena Davis Show.” Davis, who had a holding deal with CBS Paramount Network TV, in turn took the project to CBS Entertainment president Nina Tassler, who ordered a major rewrite. Jeff Bell was tapped to pen the new script, which was greenlighted by the network.

Bell, Stein and Wass will executive produce, while Davis will serve as a co-executive producer. CBS Paramount will produce with ABC Studios.

Fellow BU alumni signs Geena for new CBS show!

CBS has green-lighted the pilot of “Exit 19″, a drama starring Geena as a quirky homicide detective. When her character isn’t solving crimes on the mean streets of Manhattan, she’s in the Long Island suburbs raising two kids alone.

Writer Jeff Bell will exec produce the project along with Geena, Gene Stein and Nina Wass. CBS Paramount Network Television is producing in association with ABC Studios.

Sources tell that CBS president Nina Tassler has been trying to develop a project with Geena for several years (most recently Criminal Minds, when Mandy Patinkin walked out). She and Geena are both Boston University graduates, some sources even claim that they were roommates.

Update on CM rumours

Unfortunately, it seems like the rumours about Geena entering Criminal Minds are just that – rumours. At the CM fan site “Criminal Minds Fanatic”, the show’s producer Ed Bernero states in a letter/email that Geena is _not_ a part of their future plans. Oh well.

Rumours are that Geena is about to take a place in the series “Criminal Minds”. According to TVGuide’s Ausiello, Shemar Moore told TV critics at the CBS Press Tour that Geena Davis has emerged as the one to take the lead on the psychological crime drama. We can’t wait to hear the rest of this..!

After Rosie O’Donnel announced that she is leaving The View, blogs and papers are buzzing with rumors and suggestions on who to replace her. This is from The Detroit News:

Geena Davis: Strong, smart and in need of a day job after ABC canceled her TV run as the president of the United States, Davis could whip this morning show into shape.

Geena will be on Oprah tomorrow, in a show called “Oscar Legends”. From the Oprah message board:

Geena will be on Oprah this Thursday

Apologies for the long downtime, the server G-D.net is on was hacked and unfortunately it took some time before my host could fix it.

Geena news: she will appear on Oprah tomorrow, October 5th, on a show being tagged as “Anti-Aging Secrets of Great Women” (also appearing are Susan Sarandon, Norah Ephron, Sela Ward, Diahann Carroll, Diane Sawyer). Unfortunately, my regular source for TV clips has closed down, so if you know of a way to get a hold of this show, please do let me know.
