The UK car rental company Sixt Holiday Cars has conducted a survey where they asked their customers to vote for their favorite “road movie”. Not surprisingly to fans of Geena, Thelma & Louise was voted the top favorite! They ran – or drove, rather – off with a whopping 46% of the votes, while runner-up Easy Rider received 23% of the votes.

The woman who was Thelma suddenly laughs, clearly pleased at this real-life reference to her favourite movie, the one that transformed her from the quirky star of such features as The Accidental Tourist, The Fly and Earth Girls Are Easy into the woman at the centre of last summer’s feminist zeitgeist. And now, with the huge success of the Davis-domincated A League of Their Own — $90 million and rising – into the woman who has dramatically become a major movie star, right there at the very top of the Tinsel Town tree. Not bad going for a former oversized model from somewhere called Wareham, Massachussetts.
