Family outing at Disneyland

Photo (c) Jason Niedle 07 Geena, Reza and the kids were seen in Disneyland on Sunday, at the pre-opening event of the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. With kind permission from the photographer I have three photos of Geena – thank you, Jason Niedle.

There has also been a few pics of the kids posted at misc places; and although we have a policy of keeping this place as paparazzi-free as possible, I can’t miss out on the opportunity of complimenting Geena and Reza on their three beautiful golden haired wonders! More Geena pics below the cut.

CinC movie still up?

In an interview with The Enquirer, following yesterday’s lecture in Cincinnati, Geena reveals that the hope of a CinC TV-movie still hasn’t faded:

Davis said “there is the slightest glimmer of hope” she could return to the Oval Office as President Mackenzie Allen. “There is some interest in doing a TV movie about ‘Commander in Chief,’ ” she said.

And if not, she’s not sure what’s next.

“I don’t think I can ever act again. Any part I’d take after the President of the United States would be a step down,” she joked.

– does this mean that the movie deal mentioned in the two other interviews indeed is a CinC movie..?

Report from the Cincinnati lecture

From Veronica S, this report from yesterday’s lecture in Cincinnati. Thank you so much for taking the time, Veronica!

Just saw Geena Davis at the 2007 Smart Talk Women’s Lecture Series in Cincinnati. She gave a sharp and well organized speech on her childhood images of women and actors from the media. She laid a strong foundation for the importance of having healthy images of females in the media and simply the presence of them. Afterwards, unfortunately, most of the questions centered around her relationships with the men in her life, proving perhaps, that we are our own worst enemy when it comes to respecting other women’s intelligence. She did however get to speak about the seejane.org initiative and website as well as the commissioned studies on frequency of females in the media. She was inspiring and at least got to plant a seed of consciousness in the minds of the audience for change.

Geena back on the silver screen?

With Geena visiting Cincinnati tonight, for her second Smart Talk lecture (Milwaukee last night) Senior Entertainment Reporter of Frontier.Cincinnati.com, John Kiesewetter, has an interview up. In the interview we learn that Geena misses CinC:

“Pretty much every day somebody asks, Why did they take that show off the air? It’s interesting to me how much of a presence it still has” – “I really miss doing that show. It was so much fun. It was the best character, and she was potentially inspiring to women.”

Geena also reveals that she’s close to signing to shoot a movie this fall:

“I’m incredibly picky. I’ve been able to play really great parts, like the president and “Thelma & Louise.” So it’s really tough. I want to pick something really, really good. Also, there are fewer opportunities for a 50-year-old actor.”
