Geena is confirmed to be one of the headliners at the semi-annual National Conference for Media Reform (NCMR), taking place January 12-14 in Memphis. The NCMR is a 3-day gathering for people who are concerned about the state of the US media and committed to working for change. The conference will convene over 2,000 activists, concerned citizens, educators, media makers, journalists and policymakers to discuss strategies for mobilizing people and power to create a better media system.
January 13th at 8-10:30 p.m. (live and prerecorded; Central time) keynote plenary with Geena Davis, Ben Bagdikian and others.
The conference organizer, Free Press, is a national, nonpartisan organization working to reform the media and involve the public in media policymaking. Through education, organizing and advocacy, they promote diverse and independent media ownership, strong public media, and universal, affordable access to communications.
